Ernest Nuaham (20) had looked on the verge of completing a last-minute deal from Olympique Lyonnais to Fulham, however, the deal ultimately fell through. L’Équipe have now explained why.
It had been expected that the Ghanaian winger would join Everton, a club that OL owner John Textor is in talks to purchase. Nuamah had even agreed terms with the Toffees, only for Fulham to lodge a last-minute attempt to hijack the deal.
‘He loves Lyon’ – Nuamah’s entourage
Romano reported that a deal between Fulham and Lyon had been agreed, however, Romano later added that the deal taking Nuamah to Fulham was on the verge of being called off after “new issues” arose.
The deal was then confirmed to be off. L’Équipe have now shed light on the situation. The publication understands that it is the player that refused to move to Craven Cottage as he did not wish to leave OL, especially since the Ligue 1 club had not found a replacement. “He loves Lyon,” his enoutarge told L’Équipe.
