New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner has already revealed when he will be officially signing for Arsenal this summer.
The American shot-stopper will take part in half of the MLS campaign before travelling to north London later this month, becoming the Gunners’ first signing of the summer transfer window. Turner spoke about when his last game for the Reoviltion will be, revealing that his official release from the club will be on June 24th.
Speaking on Fox Sports last month, he said: “My official release [from Revolution] is the 24th June. I think the Revs have games on the 19th June and then the 26th. So, I would be available for selection for the 19th but not the 26th.

“My flight’s booked for right after that game on the 19th. My wife is actually heading over three weeks before that because she’s due [to give birth] in July and she’s got to get over there before that 36-week mark, so we’re gonna be split apart for three weeks. But she’ll be over there, I’ll get out there and then do my medical and get ready for a new season to start.”
Although there’s still not been an official announcement, football.londonreported back in January that an initial £4.5million deal had been agreed between the two clubs. That fee is then set to climb to £7.5million, depending on bonuses.
football.london then reported that the Gunners will look to confirm the deal when he officially moves to England, which as Turner has now revealed, will be shortly after the Revolution’s game on June 19. Turner isn’t expected to be Arsenal’s only signing this summer either as Edu is planning to bring in plenty of additions for Mikel Arteta. Arsenal have already agreed to sign Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos for a fee in the region of £3million.
Arteta’s targets also include a marquee signing in Gabriel Jesus, with the Gunners confident of landing his signature. The Gunners first made enquiries for Jesus in November, with Edu maintaining a close relationship with the player’s agent and the Manchester City forward himself.
Plus, they are interested in signing Bologna left back Aaron Hickey following his impressive performances in Serie A, football.londonunderstands. Arteta wants a versatile left-sided defender to bolster his defence, with Kieran Tierney currently on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery, while Takehiro Tomiyasu impressed last season but struggled with injuries.
Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans could also make the move to north London, with Arteta needing an experienced central-midfield player.
It’s ultimately bound to be a busy window for the Gunners and a testing one too, as they look to provide Arteta with a squad that can look to challenge for trophies over the course of the next few years.
