Barcelona initially planned for Vitor Roque to join the squad next summer, however according to Relevo, this deal could be brought forward to January.
Due to Barca’s current economic situation, it would be almost impossible to register him in January without breaking the financial regulations.
The Catalan club has already exceeded the salary limit, which means their ability to manoeuvre to sign new players is significantly reduced. Furthermore, even with the amendments to the financial control of La Liga, which has relaxed some rules, there are insufficient funds for the desired early arrival of Roque.
In order for the striker to arrive in January, the Spanish giants need a huge sale that would bring in the funds of around €40m.
The transfer fee and release clause
Roque has been signed since July 12, 2023, when Barcelona announced that they had reached an agreement with Athletico Paranaense. The club reached an agreement for €30m, plus an additional €30m that could be paid if certain objectives and bonuses are met.
The player has a release clause of €500m and his contract will commit him to the club until 2031.
