West Ham United showing interest in this Chelsea forward- The 4th Official

In a recent report, The Daily Mail claimed that West Ham United are showing interest in Chelsea forward Armando Broja who recently had a decent loan spell at Southampton. It has been revealed that the Hammers could face competition in the form of Newcastle United, Everton, Napoli and Inter Milan in pursuit of the Albanian striker.

Broja’s Impressive Loan Spell At St. Mary’s Stadium

Broja enjoyed an encouraging loan spell with the Saints last season when he produced some impressive performances as the focal point of Ralph Hasenhüttl’s attack. The 20-year-old has found the back of the net on nine occasions and grabbed one assist in 38 matches for Southampton in the previous campaign across all fronts.

The Albania international has caught the eye by averaging 1.4 shots and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. However, he needs to work on improving his ball distribution after making only 61.4% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Broja Bring To West Ham United?

Broja has proven himself to be a decent finisher in front of the opposition goal. He is proficient at making a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in on target.

The Slough-born talent can even make a few dangerous runs with the ball in the final third. However, he has to find a way to improve his link-up play deep inside the opponent’s half.

We can expect Broja to bring some much-needed firepower to West Ham head coach David Moyes‘ frontline. He would serve as an ideal back-up to Michail Antonio or even strike up a productive partnership with the Hammers centre-forward at the London Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 20, Broja has got the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday. Furthermore, he is good enough to help West Ham compete for a major trophy or two in the not-too-distant future. Therefore, the East London outfit will do well to win the race to acquire the services of the 12-time Albania international during this summer transfer window.
