West Ham are set to submit a bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike, with the two clubs currently in direct contact over working out a prospective transfert, according to L’Équipe this afternoon.
The former Reims man’s loan deal was made permanent at the end of last season through PSG’s league position, but the 21-year-old forward already looks set to leave the French capital. He was among the group of players who were told to find new clubs at the start of last month.
The Ligue 1 champions have suggested using Ekitike, who is under contract until 2027, as a makeweight in a potential deal to brring French international Randal Kolo Muani in from Eintracht Frankfurt. However, the Premier League club look set to put forward a proposal, structured as an initial loan deal with an easily achievable permanent clause set at €35m.
Ekitike scored four goals in all competitions last season – having mostly found himself in the shadow of PSG’s star attacking trident – after previously netting 11 times in his first season as a professional at his hometown club.
