The Hammers are currently 18th in the Premier League and fighting for Premier League survival.

Their latest result against Manchester United would give them confidence and hope but they need wins and they need them consistently.

It is a huge surprise to see them in the position that they are in right now with the possibility of relegation hanging on their head.

Uncertainty about their Premier League future will bring uncertainty about their best player and one of them has been already tipped to leave the club if the Hammers get demoted to the Championship.

West Ham star could face an uncertain future

That player is Crysencio Summerville, as per former West Ham chief scout Mick Brown, who has claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side could be forced to sell the Dutchman if they get relegated.

Summerville has four goal in his last five Premier League appearances and he has been one of their best players recently.

“West Ham will have real problems if they go down,” Brown said.

“It becomes incredibly difficult to keep hold of your best players, because they all want to be on top money and playing in the Premier League. Summerville is going to be one of those, I expect, because he’s showing recently he can perform in the Premier League and so there will be interest in him.

“There is every chance they could go down and then if offers come in for players like Summerville, I think they might be forced to let him go.”

West Ham need results in their favour soon since the last part of the season is expected to be seriously challenging for them.

The prospect of losing some of their best players would take the club years behind other competitors.

A player like Summerville, who is finally showing his quality at the club since his high profile move, has become a huge asset for the club and losing him would be catastrophic for their future.

With relegation, the ability to attract new players will also have a negative affect on the club.

A club like West Ham, who have been regulars in the Premier League, need to make sure they navigate the final stages of the season carefully to ensure their safety.
