Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has increased pressure on Nico Schlotterbeck to decide soon whether he wants to extend his contract beyond 2027.
“I’m a fan of clarity in all areas. Sometimes you have to be patient, sometimes you make your own decisions, and in other situations, you depend on the other side. We’re stepping on the gas,” Kehl told reporters after Saturday’s 2-1 win over Wolfsburg, adding:
“Nico knows that we want a decision as soon as possible!”
In a bid to tie the centre-back down to a new long-term contract, Dortmund are reportedly ready to offer Schlotterbeck a salary of €14 million per season and include a €60 million release clause set to take effect from 2027.
