According to Bild, Werder Bremen are in discussions with Hertha Berlin defender Niklas Stark.
The 27-year-old will leave the Hertha on a free transfer after seven years at the capital club.
Per the report, talks are promising. Stark would become the third signing for Werder Bremen this summer after Amos Pieper (Arminia Bielefeld) and Dikeni Salifou (Augsburg).
As well as playing in central-defence, Stark can also play in midfield, which makes him an attractive proposition for Werder Bremen, who will be playing Bundesliga football next season after finishing in an automatic promotion spot.
Stark played 29 games in all competitions for Hertha Berlin last season.
