Werder Bremen would like to keep hold of Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug from a sporting perspective, but there’s also a financial aspect to consider, says club boss Clemens Fritz.

Werder Bremen’s head of first-team football, Clemens Fritz, has reacted to reports of interest in Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug.
“We want to reach our goals. And then we will certainly enter into dialogue with ‘Duckschi’ and his consulting agency and discuss the situation,” Fritz told Bild of Ducksch, who has reportedly attracted interest from Torino.
As for Füllkrug, who has also been linked with Torino as well as a number of English clubs, Fritz told Kicker:
“We are happy when he scores and hope he continues this run. He has contributed on and off the pitch and is very authentic.
“Of course I would be happy if Niclas plays for Werder next season and I hope he does. But it’s no secret that we also have to consider the economic aspects. Our roadmap is clear: first we have to achieve our sporting goals, then we can discuss everything else.”
Together, Ducksch and Füllkrug have scored 29 of Werder’s 39 Bundesliga goals this season.
