Werder Bremen boss Clemens Fritz recently revealed that the club are planning to open talks with Mitchell Weiser over a new contract.
Understandably so, as the right-back not only has one year left on his current deal, but also has a release clause of less than €3 million, according to Sky Germany.
According to the report, Augsburg are interested in Weiser, but a move to the WWK-Arena is unlikely, with foreign clubs likely to be more enticing for the former Bayern Munich man.
Weiser, 29, was a key player for Werder last season, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists in 32 appearances.
