Hat-trick hero Harry Kane was delighted to see Bayern Munich bounce back from a shock DFB-Pokal defeat with a commanding 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

Harry Kane stole the show at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday evening, scoring a hat-trick as Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0.

Speaking to Bundesliga.com after the win, Kane said he was pleased to see Bayern respond to their sensational DFB-Pokal exit in midweek against third-tier side Saarbrücken.

“It was a fantastic game all-round. The way we started the game; to go two goals up, and we controlled it really well. In these big derby games, you have to give everything, and we did that today. To have the 4-0 in front of our away fans here is a special night,” Kane told Bundesliga.com after the win.

“I think, obviously, we were after a reaction after the midweek disappointment [of the DFB Cup exit to Saarbrücken]. We wanted to come out and go full throttle with the pressure and with the ball. We couldn’t have asked for a better start. Spells in the second half where it was a bit up and down. The third goal is always vital, so once we got that, we knew the game was ours.

“I’m enjoying it, the team enjoyed today, but there’s still a long way to go. So, we look forward to next week now.”

Kane has scored 15 goals in his first 10 Bundesliga games.
