Chairman of the German Football League (DFL) and Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has welcomed Thomas Tuchel back to the Bundesliga.

Tuchel is reportedly set to replace Julian Nagelsmann as Bayern Munich coach, with the announcement expected to be made official today.

And in his capacity as chairman of the DFL supervisory board, Watzke made a brief statement on the ex-BVB coach’s imminent return to Germany.

” On behalf of the Bundesliga, we say: Welcome back, Thomas Tuchel,” Watzke told SID today.

Watzke didn’t want to comment on Tuchel’s return as a representative of Borussia Dortmund ahead of the club’s crucial Bundesliga match against Bayern Munich in early April.

Tuchel was Dortmund’s coach from 2015 to 2017, when he was sacked after falling out with Watzke.
