Real Madrid starlet Gonzalo García has on Sunday secured for himself a piece of recent Spanish football history.
As much comes owing to his exploits at reserve level.
Real Madrid Castilla marked their return to action this evening, in a Primera RFEF meeting with Atlético Sanluqueño.
Frontman Gonzalo, meanwhile, fresh off netting the winner for Carlo Ancelotti’s senior Blancos side in the Copa del Rey in midweek, returned to lead the line for Real’s reserve side.
And, en route to a 2-0 triumph, the 20-year-old proved himself the star of the show.
Gonzalo netted both goals for the hosts, the first of which proved an altogether significant one when it comes to the Primera RFEF.
As revealed by Marca, before making it 22 for the season with his 2nd of the evening on Sunday, the young striker broke the record for goals in a single Primera RFEF campaign (after it was reformatted four years ago).
This comes despite the fact that Real Madrid Castilla still have 15 league games to play before the term is out.
