Spain and Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has become one of the faces of the Euro 2024 tournament, with his mane of curls bouncing up and down the flank. The curls have been tamed though.
The 25-year-old was in fine form all tournament, despite his detractors before the tournament, and handed it back to Gary Neville in impressive fashion. During Spain’s celebrations at Cibeles, Cucurella appeared with braids in his hair for the first time. He had promised to do something with his hair if Spain won the tournament, and while dying it red was suggested, and shaving it off was ruled out, braids won the day.

To shouts of ‘Sing it, sing it’ from the crowd, Cucurella appeased the crowd by singing “Cu-cu-Cucurella, he eats paella, he drinks Estrella, Haaland is terrified, Cucurella is coming.”
The former Barcelona, Eibar, Getafe and Brighton defender has catapulted himself into a different stratosphere in regards to his national status, earning the love of the country for his committed play.
