There are many changes from the September international break to report on. German-Austrian phenom Paul Wanner’s inclusion constitutes the biggest news. Maximilian Beier, Noah Atubolu, Tom Rothe, Paul Nebel, Leandro Morgalla, and Umut Tohumcu are also back.
After declining a Germany U21 call-up last month, 18-year-old German-Austrian phenom Paul Wanner has accepted Germany U21 head-coach Antonio di Salvo’s invitation to join represent the Bundesrepublik at the highest youth level. Wanner’s inclusion for the coming October international break was confirmed earlier today.
Di Salvo’s latest roster features many changes from the September incarnation. Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier returns to the U21s after spending the last break under Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann’s aegis.
Former Mainz and current Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Brajan Gruda also comes back, as do Salzburg’s Leandro Morgalla, Mainz’s Paul Nebel, Freiburg’s Noah Atubolu, Union Berlin’s Tom Rothe, and Hoffenheim’s Umut Tohumcu.
Whereas Gruda now feels acclimatized to his Premiership Club, Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko remains behind to continue concentrating on his integration with OGC Nice.
Respective injuries keep Freiburg’s Merlin Röhl and Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi out for now. Salzburg defender Hendry Blank joins Wanner as the only other first-time call up.
