Walter Mazzarri leading race to become Napoli manager

Former Cagliari and Watford manager Walter Mazzarri is now leading the race to become the new Napoli manager.

Mazzarri is a previous Napoli manager himself and yesterday, it seemed as if Igor Tudor was going to become the next Partenopei boss. But things now seem to be changing.

Il Mattino (via CN24) report that Mazzarri is now leading the race to become the next Napoli manager and this is largely because Tudor made some late financial demands that club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis doesn’t agree with, as of now. This hasn’t just delayed De Laurentiis’ decision, it is actually made him reflect strongly on Mazzarri as a short-term choice.

The Italian is expected to be in Rome later today, having recently made it clear that he would be very much in favour of managing the club for only six months and he would even be willing to sign a ‘blank’ contract and would be willing to work with a very low wage.
