German Football Association sporting director Rudi Völler has reacted to the possibility of Toni Kroos returning from international retirement to represent Germany at Euro 2024.

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann last month fueled speculation that Toni Kroos could return to the national team, calling it an “interesting thought”.
But while he won’t rule anything out, German Football Association sporting director Rudi Völler points out that the team is already well stocked in central midfield, where Kroos operates.
“We naturally have the least need for reinforcements in the position where Toni has been playing at the highest level for years,” Völler told Sport Bild.
He went on to say, however, that “nobody has been written off, everything is possible.”
Kroos announced his international retirement after Euro 2021, but is now reportedly considering a comeback should the opportunity arise.
