Harry Kane suffered a minor muscle strain during Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund last weekend which forced England’s top scorer off after 33 minutes but ahead of the Rekordmeister’s Bundesliga clash against Heidenheim, Vincent Kompany had a positive update.
“Things are looking good,” the Belgian said in Friday’s press conference. “I don’t want to five a timeline and put our medical team under pressure. It could well be that he plays against this year, but everything needs to go perfectly.”
Thomas Müller replaced Kane during last weekend’s Klassiker but in Bayern’s 1-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Pokal in midweek, Kompany opted for Jamal Musiala. With Kane’s absence against Heidenheim, it’s unclear who will start.
Harry Kane returns to training
As reported by BILD, Kane did some laps before working with rehabilitation coach Simon Martinello at their Säbener Straße HQ.
Kane, who became the quickest player to reach 50 Bundesliga goals, doing so in 32 games, won’t feature against Heidenheim or Shakhtar Donetsk, but per the report, could return against Mainz assuming that there are no setbacks.
