The suitors are multiplying for OGC Nice’s Evann Guessand (24).
Speaking upon the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season, Franck Haise sounded pessimistic regarding the club’s chances of retaining the Ivory Coast international.
Nice need to “buy to sell”, in the words of Haise, and Guessand is the most bankable asset in the current squad. Wolverhampton Wanderers initially showed interest in the forward, who came through the ranks at Nice. However, he was not keen on a move to Molineux.
As per L’Équipe, Brighton and Hove Albion have since joined the race. They are now joined by La Liga outfit Villarreal, who next season will return to the UEFA Champions League, according to Foot Mercato. However, the Spanish side’s interest is yet to manifest in a bid for the Ivory Coast international.
Fenerbahçe also hold an intense interest in the Nice forward and are prepared to table a €25m bid. However, Guessand seems reticent to move to the Turkish club, as per L’Équipe.
