For the second time in a week, allegations of racist abuse taking place during a Real Madrid match have been made. Vinicius Junior appeared to be racially abused during Los Blancos’ game against Sevilla last weekend, and La Liga have now announced that they are investigating claims that similar took place during El Clasico on Saturday.
Following these revelations, Marca have release video footage that appears to show said racist abuse taking place, with the images capturing the moment that, allegedly, a banana was thrown towards the pitch at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
🤬 Esto es lamentable y tiene que parar YA

However, others have since responded saying that the object was a piece of carboard that was used during the Barcelona fans’ display before kick-off against Real Madrid on Saturday.
“Algo que parece un plátano” o la cartulina doblada del mosaico, que casualmente en esa zona del campo era amarilla. Qué manera de meter mierda y manipular a la gente… https://t.co/y7FMC69B3U pic.twitter.com/SCZiw17dFB

Barcelona have said that they are also investigating these claims of racist abuse aimed towards Vinicius, in what appears to be another dark episode in Spanish football. These investigations are currently ongoing.
