Bayer Leverkusen have announced that Victor Boniface and Martin Terrier will miss their DFB Pokal game next week as they serve suspensions.
Boniface is suspended for one game and has been fined €25,000 after pointing his middle finger at the VfB Stuttgart bench at the end of the DFL Super Cup last Saturday.
While Terrier will miss the next two Pokal games after he was sent off with a straight red card after a tackle on Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic in the first half of the Super Cup, the game against Stuttgart was Terrier’s official debut for Die Werkself after joining from Rennes earlier in the summer window.
What this does mean is that the pair will be available for Leverkusen’s opening game in the Bundesliga on Friday night against Borussia Mönchengladbach at Borussia Park as well as their second game in the Bundesliga which is a tough game against RB Leipzig at the BayArena.
