VfB Stuttgart are still without a head coach and a win in the Bundesliga. According to a report by Bild, the reason may lie with the differing opinions of sports director Sven Mislintat, CEO Alexander Wehrle, and advisors Phillipp Lahm and Sami Khedira.
As per the report, Wehrle and his advisors want an immediate saviour who will bring instant results and get Stuttgart out of the relegation places. Mislintat, on the overhand, wants a project and someone who will eventually develop the side over time: “Not for a few games or half a year, but preferably for another 1000 days.”
The difference in opinion is further complicated by rumours of a cold relationship between both CEO and sporting director as well as Mislintat’s expiring contract. Bild’s sources believe: “The expiring contract with the sports director will probably not be extended.”
Some of the names that have been linked with the Stuttgart job include Zsolt Löw, Adi Hütter, Sebastian Hoeneß, Gerardo Seoane and Peter Bosz. The club plays a crucial game against Bochum this weekend in what is sure to be an early-season six-pointer.
