According to Bild, VfB Stuttgart are preparing themselves for the potential departure of Sehrou Guirassy in the summer and have enquired about Augsburg striker Dion Beljo.
Stuttgart have shown an interest in Beljo for a while and was even a target for VfB in the summer but they had already signed Deniz Undav on loan. The Croatian is open to leaving Augsburg in the winter, only a year after joining the club, as he has struggled for game time under new coach Jess Thorup.
If Guirassy is to leave, Beljo will be Stuttgart’s main target to be the backup to Undav. However, in recent weeks, Sebastian Hoeneß has shown that he can play with two strikers up front, this would give Beljo the chance of starting more at Stuttgart, whilst all of Stuttgart’s strikers have hit some of their best form under Hoeneß.
The future of the Guirassy is shaping up to be the transfer saga of the winter transfer window as the 27-year-old has a release clause in his contract worth €17.5m. Guirassy has attracted interest from a host of clubs from around Europe but it is mainly up to him if he wishes to leave Stuttgart despite having a very strong start to the season.
