David Datro Fofana will not feature in Union Berlin’s next two games, as he’s been suspended by the club.
FC Union Berlin have announced on Thursday that David Datro Fofana has been given a two-match suspension by the club.
The decision has been made after Fofana refused to shake hands with Union coach Urs Fischer following his substitution in Tuesday’s 0-1 loss to Napoli in the Champions League.
Fofana, who took to Instagram to apologize for the incident, will miss the upcoming games against Werder Bremen and VfB Stuttgart.
“The club has decided to temporarily suspend David Fofana after Tuesday night’s match,” the club announced on Thursday.
“David has apologized in a personal meeting, but he will train individually for a week and return to the team next Wednesday. He will therefore not be considered for the next two games.”
Josip Juranovic, Danilho Doekhi and Andras Schäfer will also miss this weekend’s clash with Werder Bremen due to injury.
