Having played for Union Berlin on loan from Bayer Leverkusen since last summer, Lennart Grill has now signed for the German capital club on a permanent basis.
Union confirmed the permanent acquisition of the 24-year-old goalkeeper this afternoon.
“With Lennart’s signing, we have added a player in his prime to our goalkeeping portfolio,” said Union’s director of professional football, Oliver Ruhnert.
“Especially in his games at the beginning of the season, he showed us what great potential he has, as did his performances in games without conceding a goal – in the Bundesliga at Köln, in the Europa League at St. Gilles and also in the DFB Pokal against Heidenheim. It is now a matter of developing this further.”
Grill is delighted to have signed a permanent contract with Union.
“Of course I’m glad that everything worked out and that both clubs were able to come to an agreement. I’m happy to be here and will give everything to keep the team successful,” he said.
