Previously linked with Germany’s Charlottenburg capital city side, it now looks as if Tunisian midfielder Aïssa Bilal Laïdouni may be headed to Köpenick. Jannis Klimburg of Germany’s Kicker Magazine reports that 1. FC Union Berlin are in advanced talks to acquire the 26-year-old from Ferencvaros Budapest.
Laïdouni will certainly not come cheap. A transfer fee in the €4-5 million range is being discussed. Union evidently feel that, after recently completing a record blockbuster deal for Croatian defender Josip Juranovic, the time has come to invest heavily in the squad. The Tunisian World Cup star has made 24 appearances across all competitions for his Hungarian side this season.
