Three days ahead of Bayern Munich’s home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (Friday, 20:30 CET), questions remain over Manuel Neuer’s fitness, according to Bild.
Neuer was forced off at half-time during Bayern’s 3-0 win over Werder Bremen on February 14 due to a muscle fiber tear and missed the following matches against Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund as a result.
After sitting out training on Monday, the 39-year-old veteran was also absent at the start of Tuesday’s session before later joining for about half an hour, training behind a screened-off area. Based on this, it remains uncertain whether he will replace Jonas Urbig in goal against Gladbach on Friday.
Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala and Dayot Upamecano didn’t train with the squad at all on Tuesday, instead completing gym sessions for load management and receiving physiotherapy treatment
Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies, 10 days into his recovery from a torn muscle fiber injury, trained lightly with the ball, while Hiroki Ito has not yet returned to on-pitch rehabilitation following his recent thigh injury.
