After getting called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins promptly celebrated by scoring the first goal in his side’s 4-0 romp over Dutch giants, Ajax, in the Europa Conference League.
Unfortunately, Watkins had to leave the pitch just after the half hour mark because of an injury. He was replaced by Jhon Duran who also went on to score later in the game.
During his post-match interview, Villa manager, Unai Emery provided a reasonably positive update on the striker, suggesting that he just sustained a cut and should be available for the weekend’s game against West Ham.
