Rumors regarding the future of (most recently) former FC Bayern München trainer Thomas Tuchel emerging late last week have now been officially confirmed. The 51-year-old next’s professional appointment shall be on the Isle as the trainer of England’s national football program. Tuchel will assume his position after the turn of the coming calendar year, leaving interim trainer Lee Carsley in charge for November’s Nations League fixtures.
Mark Bullingham, managing director of the English Football Association (FA), declared that the program was thrilled to have signed “one of the best coaches in the world” in a press release. Tuchel himself described himself, among other things, to be proud and honored in a parallel press release. It was revealed on Wednesday that Tuchel signed on to coach England last week and that former Chelsea assistant Anthony Barry is also on board.
