Tuchel courts former Chelsea assistant

Britain’s Daily Telegraph reports that Chelsea are considering releasing one of new Bayern trainer Thomas Tuchel’s preferred assistant coaches for a fee. 

As expected, new FC Bayern München head-coach Thomas Tuchel was able to bring two of his preferred assistant coaches (Zsolt Löw and Arno Michels) with him to his new assignment. This was confirmed at Tuchel’s introductory presser on Saturday afternoon, at which the new FCB trainer specifically thanked the families of both Löw and Michels for allowing them to join him in Munich.

Britain’s Daily telegraph reports that Tuchel would also like to lure former Chelsea assistant Anthony Barry to Bavaria. The 36-year-old worked with Tuchel’s predecessor (Frank Lampard) and currently works with his successor (Graham Potter) in West London. Barry also worked alongside Roberto Martinez at his former national team assignment with Belgium and his current station in Portugal.

According to the British broadsheet, Chelsea may be willing to allow the Liverpool native to depart for a fee. Tuchel’s actual purported interest in Barry isn’t confirmed by any German media outlets at the moment. Bayern themselves may not be interested in fronting up any more fees in the near future due to the expense of Julian Nagelsmann’s release.
