Bayern Munich will be without several important players when they travel to Heidenheim on Saturday.
“Manuel Neuer, Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Noussair Mazraoui are not in the squad,” Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel told reporters at a press conference on Friday.
Looking ahead to Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Arsenal on Tuesday, he added:
“None of the five will be rested for Tuesday. They’re not in the squad because they’re not fit, so they’re a doubt for Tuesday. There’s no tendency. Every minute counts.”
On the positive side for Bayern, Raphael Guerreiro is fit and available as the Bavarians look to bounce back from last week’s 0-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
“We have to make up for last weekend, also for ourselves. It’s an art to focus on the next game. I don’t see any reason to turn our work and preparations away from the here and now. We need to be the best version of ourselves every day. The best preparation is the next game,” said Tuchel.
