As reported by Kicker, TSG Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann is set to break a club record when he steps out onto the pitch to plan FC Köln this weekend.
The German international will make his 300th Bundesliga appearance for Hoffenheim. This will be the first time in the club’s history that a player has featured over 300 times in the top-flight division of German football.
Baumann has been through thick and thin with Hoffenheim as he enters his tenth season with the club. He’s played in Europe, experienced mid-table uncertainty, and near relegation with TSG.
Now the club captain, Baumann, truly represents Hoffenheim’s journey in the Bundesliga.
Hoffenheim have a solid start to the 2023/24 season, currently sitting 6th after three games. Travelling to Köln on Saturday, who are winless in three, would be another huge step to creating an early gap between themselves and the clubs down the bottom.
