Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich see Chelsea’s Trevor Chalobah as a potential candidate for Benjamin Pavard if the Frenchman leaves the club.
Internally, the possibility of signing the 24-year-old has been discussed to replace Pavard as head coach Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of Chalobah having worked with the defender at Chelsea.
However, the feeling at Bayern is that the transfer would be very difficult to pull off. Chalobah’s current contract at Chelsea expires in 2028 but there is also an option of a further year so it would cost a potentially high fee to bring the defender to Bavaria. The 24-year-old is also currently injured meaning he would not be able to instantly integrate into the Bayern team until he recovers.
Chalobah is the next player to be considered as a candidate to replace Pavard who hopes to leave for Inter Milan in this window. Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap, RB Leipzig’s Lukas Klostermann and Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida are more names who have been linked to the club in recent weeks.
