Tottenham are in the process of finding a replacement for Fabio Paratici, as they don’t want to hand full control of recruitment to Johan Lange, according to The Telegraph.
Paratici was involved in Tottenham’s recruitment process during the January transfer window, despite the club confirming that he would be departing. It was confirmed that Paratici would remain in his position until the end of the winter window, leaving to join Serie A side Fiorentina at the beginning of February.
Lange joined Tottenham in 2023 as technical director, making the move from fellow Premier League side Aston Villa. Lange was then brought in to a joint Sporting Director role back in October, and the north London outfit are now looking to continue with that double model after Paratici headed through the exit door.
Tottenham Eyeing Paratici Replacement
According to a report from The Telegraph, Tottenham are planning to bring in a replacement for Paratici, who left the club to join Fiorentina, rather than handing full recruitment control to Lange. Spurs want to stick to the two-man sporting director model amid criticism aimed at Lange for their lack of business in the January transfer window.
This news comes shortly after Cristian Romero seemingly criticised the club’s transfer activity, posting on social media less than an hour after the January window had closed. The Argentine suggested that it was ‘disgraceful’ that Spurs only had 11 senior players available recently, appearing to take a dig at the lack of signings.
