Tottenham predicted team vs Frankfurt – Thomas Frank decides on Kolo Muani, Odobert and Sarr

Here’s the Tottenham Hotspur team that we reckon Thomas Frank will select to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday

Thomas Frank has a very small pool of Tottenham players to choose from for Tottenham’s Champions League match at Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night.

There was a huge moment of fortune for Randal Kolo Muani on Tuesday as he narrowly escaped serious injury in a car crash before flying out to the game. The Spurs forward, on loan from PSG, was driving from the club’s Enfield training ground to Stansted Airport to catch the team flight to Germany when he was involved in an accident that left the right-hand side of his Ferrari smashed, his windscreen cracked and his airbag deployed.

The 27-year-old Frenchman’s compatriot Wilson Odobert was behind him on the motorway and pulled over to check that his team-mate was alright after the accident. Frank explained that the duo were fine and were set to join the squad on a later flight on Tuesday evening.

Two players who will not be flying out to Germany are defenders Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven, after the duo added their names to Tottenham’s long injury list.

“Pedro hasn’t travelled. Unfortunately he picked up a hamstring injury and will be out for four weeks,” said Frank. “Micky has not travelled. Minor thing. It’s possible he’s available for the weekend. It’s not a hamstring injury.

That means Frank only has 11 available senior outfield players for the European clash in Frankfurt but does at least have midfielders Joao Palhinha and Pape Matar Sarr back in contention among that number, after injury and illness respectively.

With Archie Gray having been rested for the starting line-up for the draw at Burnley, it’s likely to be the 19-year-old and one other in the engine room for the game in Germany and with Palhinha having played more football recently compared to Sarr’s one game at the Africa Cup of Nations, it could be the Portuguese who gets the nod.

Here’s the Tottenham we reckon Thomas Frank will select:

(4-2-3-1) Vicario; Spence, Danso, Romero, Udogie; Palhinha, Gray; Kolo Muani, Xavi, Odobert; Solanke.
