Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak and his teammate Yannick Carrasco, reports Spanish outlet Marca.
The north London club and their La Liga counterparts have established an excellent working relationship in recent seasons.
Spurs ripped up Matt Doherty’s contract last month to allow the Irish right-back to join Atletico for free.
Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon is also currently on a season-long loan at the La Liga club from Tottenham.
Spurs are now hoping Atletico repay the favour, with moves lined up for Carrasco and Oblak ahead of the summer.
Hugo Lloris is out of contract in the summer of 2024 and the 36-year-old has not been solid this term.
Oblak is a massive upgrade on the French goalkeeper and landing him would be great.
Tottenham need a quality goalie if they want to start winning silverware. The 30-year-old Slovenian international is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and will be perfect for Spurs.
Manager Antonio Conte could also do with another quality attacker in the mould of Carrasco.
The 29-year-old Belgium international was offered to Manchester United after Christian Eriksen’s injury.
Barcelona have a non-mandatory buy option to sign Carrasco in the summer as part of the deal to let Memphis Depay join Atletico.
However, Spurs are keeping tabs on the situation and could swoop for him. The Belgian has scored four goals and claimed an assist in 26 games for Atletico this term.
Adding those two stars to their squad would boost Spurs’ chances of challenging for the Premier League title.
However, whether they can get a deal done for both of them remains to be seen.
