Tottenham Hotspur hoping to land this Serie A defender- The 4th Official

In a recent report, Tuttosport mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer this summer. It has been revealed that Spurs are showing interest in acquiring the services of the Brazilian centre-half this off-season.

Bremer’s Decent Run Of Form In Italian Football

Bremer was a consistent performer at the centre of Torino’s backline in the previous campaign as he managed to perform at a high level for them on the defensive third of the pitch. The Itapitanga-born centre-back participated in 33 matches for the Italian club last season, scoring three times and grabbing one assist in multiple competitions.

The 25-year-old was a rock at the back based on his average of 1.5 tackles, 3.2 interceptions and 4.0 clearances per game in Serie A. He has even been excellent when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.6% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Antonio Conte Move In For Bremer This Summer?

Bremer has been a dominant presence inside his half as he usually times his tackles well to make a few crucial interceptions at the back. Standing at 1.88m, he is a towering figure inside his penalty area and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.

We can expect Bremer to inject more quality into Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte‘s defence and increase competition for places within his match-day squad.

The Brazilian sensation has what it takes to rival Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez for a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. At 25, Bremer will only get better with each season, so the North London giants would be wise to move in for him before the start of the new campaign.

Conte could be the ideal man to unlock the best out of Bremer over the next few years. However, there are some question marks over whether he would be able to make a smooth transition to life in English football. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of recruiting Bremer which is why Spurs should try everything to get a deal over the line for him this summer.
