In a recent print edition, Marca mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur have set a €20m price tag for Giovani Lo Celso. It is understood that Spurs are eager to recoup €20m for the Argentine winger who recently had a decent loan spell at Villarreal.

Lo Celso’s Impressive Loan Spell At Estadio de la Cerámica

Lo Celso has proven his worth as a decent squad player while on loan at Villarreal. The South American talent has registered one goal and one assist in 22 matches for the Yellow Submarine this season on all fronts.

The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer at the centre of the park based on his average of 1.1 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga.

He has even been excellent when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 83.8% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Tottenham Hotspur Set A €20m Pricetag For Lo Celso: Good Move For Both Parties?

Lo Celso is a technically gifted forward who can make some clever runs with the ball out on the wide areas. He has got the vision to create a few decent chances in the final third and can strike the ball with power from long range. Lo Celso is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can even play as an attacking midfielder or as a secondary striker if needed.

However, the Argentine sensation has to find a way to improve his productivity in the opponent’s half if he wants to taste success at the highest level.

Lo Celso is currently surplus to requirements at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Thus, it makes sense for Spurs to cut him loose during this summer transfer period. The Argentine playmaker can even benefit from sealing a permanent move away from the North London club so that he can ensure regular playing opportunities in the coming seasons.

At 26, Lo Celso is entering his prime and would benefit a lot from a change of scenery this summer. Hence, it will be a good move for both the player and the London club if they decide to go their separate ways ahead of the new campaign.
