In a recent report, football.london has conveyed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the signing of Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma. It has been mentioned that the Lilywhites have agreed on a Transfer deal worth £25million for bringing him to North London.
Bissouma’s Campaign At Brighton This Season
Bissouma has enjoyed a solid campaign at Brighton as he produced a handful of impressive displays in the central areas of the field. He has managed to score two goals and produce two assists over 28 appearances across all competitions.
The Côte d’Ivoire- born sensation has made himself comfortable in the Premier League in the past couple of years. He has performed consistently for his side after averaging 2.9 tackles, 1.9 interceptions, 1.8 clearances and 1.3 dribbles per game in the English first division. He has been exceptional at distributing the ball, completing 89.2% of his attempted passes in English top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will He Bring To Tottenham Hotspur?
Bissouma has a solid presence in the midfield. He is a formidable tackler of the ball and can time his tackles well. He is quick on sensing danger and can make a few clever interceptions for his side in the defensive third of the field. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and excels at passing his way out from the holding positions. The defensive midfielder has even contributed by scoring and creating his fair share of goals for Brighton this season.
The Mali talent is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play in an advanced attacking midfield position if required. Hence, he will be a good fit for Antonio Conte’s style of play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
At 25, Bissouma’s best years are still ahead of him and he can improve with each season to play at his highest potential. Conte would do well to bring out the best of him.
We can expect the Mali international to bring more bite and steel to the Spurs’ midfield and increase competition for places within Conte’s match-day squad. Therefore, the North London outfit would do well to acquire him in this summer transfer window.
