Tottenham are exploring the possibility of signing Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.
Sky Italia reports that the move between Tottenham and the La Liga club would involve Giovani Lo Celso as part of a deal for Torres this summer.
Lo Celso (26) joined Villarreal on loan for the second half of the season from Spurs.
Villarreal are not hugely in favour of this type of operation, as they usually prefer to do straight deals.
Last season Spurs made an offer for the 25-year-old Villarreal defender, which exceeded €45 million.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham are once again being considered as possible destinations.
Antonio Conte’s team, unlike last season, offers the player the possibility of playing in the Champions League.
Torres recently stated that the only real offer he had was the one he had from Villarreal to renew his contract.
