Sky Germany report this afternoon that Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada (26) has reached a total agreement with Benfica and would like to join the Portuguese club.
The Japan international has informed Eintracht bosses that he would like to join Benfica but SGE head coach Oliver Glasner would like to keep Kamada at the club, despite just one-year remaining on his current deal.
Negotiations are ongoing and a fee between €10m and €15m is being discussed. A dilemma for Eintracht is that if they don’t sell Kamada this summer, they run the risk of losing the attacking-midfielder on a free transfer next summer if he doesn’t sign a contract extension.
Kamada has two Bundesliga goals already this season in 107 minutes and since his €1.5m move from Sagan Tosu in 2017, has scored 28 and created 27 in 136 games across all competitions.
Following the departure of Filip Kostić to Juventus and retirement of Martin Hinteregger, Eintracht Frankfurt won’t want to lose another key player from their Europa League winning campaign.
