Germany’s main sporting tabloid reports that Borussia Dortmund striker Steffen Tigges has passed his 1. FC Köln medical and has already completed a photo-shoot in Geißböcke gear.
A formal introduction in the cathedral city should come at the latest tomorrow.
Wasting no time with their final stage negotiations, Germany’s cathedral city club are set to introduce Dortmund attacker Steffen Tigges as a Köln player very soon. According to Germany’s Sport Bild, a €1.5 million transfer has been finalized. The 23-year-old–scorer of three Bundesliga goals in 15 top flight appearances–gets a slight pay raise as part of the deal.
Tigges finally made the jump to the BVB first-team under then interim trainer Edin Terzic in December of 2020. He nevertheless would have likely been destined for BVB II under Terzic this year, rendering this a fabulous opportunity for the late-bloomer to make the jump up. Tigges has racked up 38 goals for the Dortmund reserves in the Regionalliga and third German football flight.
