Jess Thorup is delighted with the instant impact Marius Wolf has made at Augsburg since joining the club on a free transfer.
Marius Wolf made his first start for Augsburg in the 3-1 win over St. Pauli at the weekend and celebrated by scoring the opener.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Augsburg coach Jess Thorup praised the 29-year-old, who has joined the club on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund, saying he has quickly become an important figure on the pitch and in the dressing room.
“Marius Wolf has done very well,” Thorup told reporters ahead of Friday’s Bundesliga clash with Mainz:
“He helps us with his experience on the pitch, but he is also important in the dressing room. The fact that he scored on Sunday makes it all even better.”
Wolf has made 178 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 21 assists.
In addition to Dortmund, he has had contracts with 1860 Munich, Hannover 96 and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as loan spells with Hertha BSC and FC Köln.
