Thomas Tuchel to sign two-and-a-half-year deal at Bayern Munich

As reported by Bild, Julian Nagelsmann’s departure from German champions Bayern Munich is set to be confirmed imminently, and he will be replaced by compatriot Thomas Tuchel, who has been out of work since leaving Chelsea earlier this season. According to L’Équipe, Tuchel will sign a two-and-a-half-year deal at Bayern Munich, keeping him at the Bavarian club until 2025.

L’Équipe add that the final details of the former Paris Saint-Germain manager’s contract are being finalised. The move will put to bed widespread reports, notably from Foot Mercato, that Tuchel was set for a surprise return to the Parc des Princes. Christophe Galtier has come under fire in recent weeks, and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi made re-hiring Tuchel a priority, according to the French publication.

Tuchel will take charge of his first training session on Monday, and he will be joined by three accompanying members of staff. Zsolt Löw and Arno Michels will join as assistants, whilst Rainer Schrey will take up the role of the club’s physician.
