Thierry Henry being explored as possible France women’s manager candidate

Former Arsenal striker and Belgium assistant coach Thierry Henry is being touted as a potential candidate to succeed Corinne Diacre as the head coach of the French national women’s football team. The French Football Federation (FFF) is currently searching for a replacement for Diacre, who was sacked last week.

According to L’Équipe, several FFF officials have discussed Henry’s name as an interesting option. A commission, consisting of Jean-Michel Aulas (President of Lyon), Marc Keller (President of Strasbourg), Aline Riera, and Laura Georges (former international players), has been tasked with making a recommendation to Philippe Diallo, the interim president of the FFF.

In a previous interview, Aulas had outlined the ideal candidate for the job, stating that they should be “ambitious, have experience leading teams, and possess knowledge of women’s football“. He also stressed the importance of charisma and leadership qualities, stating that they are essential for both men’s and women’s teams.

Thierry Henry is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of his generation, having won numerous titles and awards during his playing career. He has also gained experience as a coach, working as an assistant manager for the Belgium national team and as the head coach of MLS side, Montreal Impact.
