Two members of the midfield ranks at Barcelona will be forced to walk the disciplinary tightrope in the club’s next outing.
The pair in question? İlkay Gündoğan, and Oriol Romeu.
Barcelona, of course, are fresh off a triumphant post-international break return to action, on Saturday night.
After welcoming Las Palmas to Catalunya’s capital with sights on a fifth win from six, this is precisely what Xavi’s troops marched on to, courtesy of a solitary strike on the part of Raphinha.
En route to as much, though, no fewer than three members of the Blaugrana’s squad picked up suspensions.
Owing to their respective fifth yellow cards of the La Liga campaign, Robert Lewandowski, João Cancelo, and Iñigo Martínez will be unavailable to feature against Cádiz next time out.
All three, though, will in turn also have a clean slate on the disciplinary front for Barca’s ensuing showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.
The same cannot be said for aforementioned pair İlkay Gündoğan, and Oriol Romeu.
Sitting on four bookings each, the engine room duo, in the case of featuring against Cádiz, will be left with little choice but to toe the disciplinary line, in the knowledge that another yellow card would rule them out of El Clásico.
