Former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué was quick to take to social media, to provide his response to the club’s latest triumph over arch rivals Real Madrid.
Barca and Real, of course, locked horns for the latest time this past weekend.
With silverware on the line, Spanish football’s two biggest clubs made the trip to Seville, for the finale of the Copa del Rey.
When all was said and done in a pulsating affair, it was the Blaugrana who emerged on the right side of the result, thanking a late strike on the part of Jules Koundé for a 3-2 extra-time victory.
And one individual who was quick to make clear his feelings that as much was for the best of football as a whole was the aforementioned Gerard Piqué.
With Real Madrid having grabbed the headlines in the days leading up to the clash for less than positive reasons, Barca legend Piqué took to social media, to write:
‘In the end, the good guys always win.’
