Simon Terodde’s expiring contract with Schalke 04 will not be renewed, the Bundesliga club announced today.
As a result, the 35-year-old veteran striker will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
“In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation in the media about my future. This is a topic that neither the club nor I need at this time. Therefore, I would like to make it clear that my time at Schalke will definitely come to an end this summer,” Simon Terodde announced.
“My time here has been incredibly emotional, marked by an unbelievable number of intense moments that I will remember forever. Now I want to write my last chapter at Schalke with my teammates – and ultimately say goodbye by staying in the league.”
To date, the right-footed forward has made 59 appearances for Schalke 04, contributing to 39 goals (33 goals, 6 assists).
