LaLiga president Javier Tebas has stressed that Paris Saint-Germain are ruining European football following Kylian Mbappe‘s recent contract renewal.
Tebas claimed that PSG‘s financial data may include sponsorship contributions that do not comply with UEFA’s financial fair play rules.
“I’m not going to respond to the president of Ligue 1, it’s the same letter they sent me, but a different president,” said Tebas.
“We will not allow a European team to destroy the ecosystem of European football. The complaint that we are going to file with UEFA has already been drafted.
“It is not about showing off, it is objective financial data. Losses of around 300 million euros and revenues bigger than [Real] Madrid, [Manchester] United and Barcelona, data that nobody believes.
“And they renew [Kylian] Mbappe. It is impossible if there is no cheating in sponsorship or capital contributions greater than those allowed by UEFA.
“It’s not a French problem, it’s a problem of the European football ecosystem. We are like the European Robin Hoods. I have spoken to other leagues, some of them will join.
“We are going to do it whatever the president of the French league says. They already know me in Europe.
“Listen [PSG president] Nasser [Al-Khelaifi], what you are doing is screwing football. It’s as dangerous as the Super League project.”
Tebas went on to reveal that LaLiga had reported both Manchester City and PSG following Neymar‘s move from Barcelona to the Ligue 1 club.
“When we reported the Neymar issue, we reported two clubs, City and PSG,” added Tebas.
“Both clubs were sanctioned by UEFA. What happened? In a very strange decision, both were pardoned by [the Court of Arbitration for Sport] CAS.
“We have studied it and we are going to try not to let it happen again”.
The LaLiga president also indicated that it would not be financially feasible for Real Madrid to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
“In the case of Haaland, the operation was impossible for a club with the transparency of Real Madrid,” noted Tebas.
“Having gone to City, we will see how the operation has been done. They take about 150 million euros in commission. Only clubs like City, PSG or Chelsea do that.”
