After recovering from Covid-19, Jamal Musiala has returned to training for Bayern Munich and is likely to play some role against Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to media ahead of tomorrow’s game, Julian Nagelsmann said Musiala “will probably come off the bench tomorrow.” The 19-year-old tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday prior to Bayern’s Champions League game against Viktoria Plzeň on Wednesday. Musiala’s positive Covid result was Bayern’s fourth in the space of a month after Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka and Thomas Müller.
There was also good news for Alphonso Davies, who missed the game against Viktoria Plzeň after suffering a cranial bruise against Borussia Dortmund in the Klassiker last weekend. The 21-year-old is fit to play, whilst Thomas Müller has also passed a fitness test despite his substitution on Wednesday due to a back problem.
Bayern will however be without Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich will start in his place.
